A lot of technology is marketed as means help you improve your sleep or smart technology which accounts for how you sleep. It is important to note that most of these commercial products are not well studied and is certainly not a magic pill that can help you achieve sound sleep. This is where it is important to learn more about the products and how it could potential help your own individual sleeping profile.

  • Sleep tracking technology: these devices function through tracking your body (Heart Rate, body movements, etc.) throughout the night to determine the quality of sleep you have. This data can be utilized to give a sleep a more accurate depiction of their own sleeping patterns which can then be acted on. 
  • Sleep optimizing technology: the devices make sure optimize the physical conditions to help you sleep. These conditions usually include adjusting light, sound and temperature to account for your natural sleep cycle.
